Slipper Socks

These cozy slippers will keep everyone’s feet warm over the winter. Plus, they stitch up quickly from three pattern pieces and quilted fabric (as well as minky, fleece and old sweaters).

For the quilted version, choose fabrics to layer and straight-line quilt, or select fabric that is already quilted for an even quicker finish. With so many fabrics to choose from you can delight everyone in the family with slippers they’ll love.

The pattern for adults includes sizes S through L. The pattern for children includes Child’s XS through L. Both include a sole insert pocket to accommodate a foam inner sole for added comfort.

If you’ve ever spent time with someone using a walker or wheelchair you know firsthand how frustrating it can be to tote things along that they want to keep handy. Fortunately, books, magazines, reading glasses, medication and more can be easily transported with this handy carryall.

The carryall has pockets, ties and a velcro closure for securing things in an easy-to-get-to place. It works with walkers, wheelchairs and can even be secured over a bed rail.

While this project may take a little longer to complete than some of the others in this guide, it’s a thoughtful gift that will be greatly appreciated.

The finished size of the carryall is 15″ x 20 1/2″. The pattern also includes instructions for a 9″ x 12 1/2″ carrier bag.

Keep hot bowls from burning fingers with these handy quilted holders. They can go right into the microwave to make it easy to remove hot containers. Just be sure to use all cotton fabric, thread and batting as polyester can melt.

When not in use they’ll look lovely on the countertop holding apples and other fresh produce. Choose fabrics the recipient will love and sit back and enjoy their appreciation for this thoughtful gift.

Instructions are included for three sizes:

  • Small: 6 1/2″ in diameter
  • Medium: 9 1/2″ in diameter
  • Large: 12″ in diameter

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
