Witches, and Bats, and Cats – Oh My!

Whether you go all out for Halloween or not, it’s fun to get in the spirit and display some seasonal whimsy. We’ve found several great patterns for quilts, wall hangings, mug rugs and more that are perfect for Halloween.

These quilt projects are all small so they can be finished quickly. Use seasonal Halloween fabrics or choose fabrics of the appropriate colors. Either way, you’ll have fun making each project your own – and you’ll have something you love to display year after year!

Witchy Toes

We love these quirky witch’s legs and shoes from Trillium Designs! Use the block for a wall hanging, throw pillow, tote bag …  well, however you want! The paper pieced block finishes at 10″ square so there are plenty of ways to use it.

NOTE:  Piece Q1 runs off the page and the last section of it is on page 5.  You have to tape/glue them together before you can cut the fabric.

Halloween Bats Mug Rug

This batty little quilt from The Patchsmith was designed as a mug rug but we can also see it on the wall! It’s made using fusible applique and will be about 9″ wide x 5.5″ tall once finished, unless you choose to enlarge it (instructions available). The pattern is included in a set of 10 Halloween and Thanksgiving mug rug designs.

Purchase the “Halloween and Thanksgiving” mug rug patterns here.

You’ll find instructions for enlarging the pattern and lots of other helps here.

Halloween Trick or Treat Bag

While this was designed for little ghosts and goblins to carry their loot home in, we’d much prefer to put it on display. It will be fun next to the front door or on a table anywhere that needs a spot of Halloween spirit.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
