Pretty Flower Coasters are a Breeze to Make
They Make Wonderful Gifts, Too!
Pull out your prettiest fabrics for a set of charming coasters to use anywhere around your home. A set is a lovely gift, too, so make several coasters while you’re at it.
You’re sure to appreciate how easy these are to make. Stitch and turn the flower shape, then lay a hexie on top. A fabric glue stick or pen may be your best friend for this project, as it will save you from having to hand stitch the hexies.
Once layered, stitch around the outside of the hexie to secure all layers. This can be done with big stitch hand quilting or machine stitching. Either looks great.
The instructions, from Nadra Ridgeway of Ellis and Higgs, can be viewed in multiple languages. If English is not appearing, use the Translate bar at the top of the page to switch from German to English. You may then need to scroll to access the English version below the German in each section.
You’ll also need the flower and hexie templates.
I love this fabric! I wonder who makes it?
