Create a Timeless Quilt for Your Collection
Shadow Prints Give It An Amish Look!
Rich, deep colors in mottled fabric give this quilt the look of an Amish antique. In fact, the quilt was patterned after a timeless antique quilt made in wool.
The fans in this quilt are made the traditional way with curved piecing. That’s much easier to do than it may seem, and you’ll be an old pro by the time you finish this quilt (get tips here). In fact, mastering this one technique will open the door to many beautiful quilt patterns you may now pass by.
However, if you’re not ready to tackle curved piecing, you can applique the blades to the background. Once four fan blocks are stitched together to form the circle, applique a smaller circle to the center to form the fans.
Regardless which method you use, you’ll have a beautiful heirloom quilt once it’s completed.
