Pretty Ornaments to Make from Scraps
These Are So Simple To Make!
These pretty star ornaments are perfect for decorating gifts, or make several to enjoy on your tree. They’re easy to make and don’t require a lot of picky sewing.
The ornaments are charming in many color combinations so have fun choosing. Consider different fabric styles as well. Give them a homespun look with calico and gingham, or a more sophisticated look with elegant fabric choices.
The star works best with two dark fabrics and one light. As long as you keep that in mind you’ll be able to put scraps and other finds from your stash to good use in making these ornaments.
Finish off the outside edge with lace or binding. Either option looks great.
The following star was inserted into the round opening in a blank greeting card. We love the elegant fabrics, which would look just as great in ornaments.

The finished ornaments, designed by Christina Lane, the Sometimes Crafter, are about 4″ across without the lace.
