You’ll Love This Method of You Don’t Like Pinning!

Do you typically skip over quilt patterns that require curved piecing? This is one technique that many quilters tend to avoid, especially those who don’t like pinning.

It’s also a great technique to master, as there are so many beautiful patterns that use curved piecing. The good news is that curved piecing is way easier than you may be imagining.

Any Easy Way to Do Curved Piecing

Andy, from A Bright Corner, has an easy way to do curved piecing with only one pin. Her secret is the use of inexpensive bent-tip tweezers to help feed the fabric through the machine. Watch her demonstrate her method in the following video.

If you prefer a little more control over how the curves line up, create a crease in the center of each curved piece and pin the two pieces together there and at each end. The following article explains what I mean. While they go on and finish with a lot of pins, one in the center of the curve and one at each end may be all you need using Andy’s tweezer method.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
