Make a Bonus Quilt While Working on Other Projects
Put Leaders and Enders to Good Use!
Do you have stacks of 2 1/2″ squares cut from leftovers ready to use in a project? Put them to good use in a bonus quilt that’s constructed while you’re working on other projects.
If you’re already using scraps of fabric at the beginning and end of pieced chains (leaders and enders), turn those scraps into a bonus quilt by stitching pairs of 2 1/2″ squares instead of scraps you plan to discard.
If you’re not, you’ll find piecing goes more quickly, you’ll use less thread and you have fewer loose threads floating around by using leaders and enders, whether or not you’re chain piecing. Just take it one step further and create a bonus quilt instead of using scraps.
