There Are Several Quilts to Choose From!
There are many ways to approach selecting fabric for scrap quilts. A popular method is what we call “anything goes”: sew together multiple fabrics without concern for how they fall (except, perhaps, with an eye to values). There’s something endearing about quilts that are made up of hundreds of different fabrics.
However, many quilters prefer a more coordinated approach. Susan Ache has developed a great way to organize scraps into a more planned look for spectacular results. It all has to do with choosing colors and then coordinating within them.
Her book, Quilt by Color: Scrappy Quilts with a Plan, explains the process in more detail. It also contains patterns for several lovely quilts, a few of which are shown here.
