This Irish Chain Quilt is a Gorgeous Scrap Buster
Substitute Your Favorite Colors for the Black and Gray – Or Not!
Black and white blocks create structure for the scrappy fabrics in this Irish Chain quilt. The combination produces a memorable and unique quilt. While we love the contrast of the black and white with the scrappy colors, a medium and dark color (instead of gray and black) will tame the scraps just as well and be equally lovely.
The quilt is comprised of two blocks made up of of 2 1/2″ squares. This is a great opportunity to use up those scraps, extra charm squares and jelly roll strips.
While the quilt is super easy to stitch together, there’s quite a bit of stitching involved. Settle in and enjoy the process. In the end you’ll have a gorgeous quilt for your efforts.
The finished quilt, by Rita Hodge at Red Pepper Quilts, is 74″ x 74″. Adjust the size by altering the number of squares.
