A Fun Hot Pad for Your Kitchen

It’s a Great Gift for Quilting and Sewing Friends, Too!

Remnants in your stash will quickly go together into this fun hot pad. It’s an easy project to complete and will be done in just a couple of hours (if that long!).

Choose whatever colors appeal to you and accent your creation with a large flat button. The designer, Crafty Stacci, embroidered her name on hers. Put whatever you want there or leave the space plain in your creation.

Sewing Machine Hot Pad Pattern

There’s no binding for this hot pad, which speeds construction (it’s turned instead). If you want the look of a binding, go ahead and layer it as usual and finish it with a binding. You also may want to add a hanging loop to display it on your kitchen wall when not in use. Insul-Bright batting provides heat proofing.

The machine is paper pieced but it doesn’t have to be if you’re not comfortable with that. For standard piecing, cut template shapes from the pattern. Be sure to add a 1/4″ seam allowance around all sides of each piece.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
