A Pretty Dresden Wreath Not Just for the Holidays

Make it in Your Favorite Colors for Display All Year Long!

Turn a Dresden Plate into a charming wreath with this throw pillow pattern. Or, make the top into a wall quilt or table topper for a delightful quilted accent for your home.

The wreath and bow are machine appliqued to the background, then given dimension with trapunto (optional). This is an easy project for learning how to do trapunto, if you haven’t already done so. Or, skip that step and layer the top and quilt it as you normally would.

'Round the Holidays Pillow

We love the bright colors and can easily imagine this displayed for Easter, as well as for Christmas. This will be lovely in other colors and fabric styles, as well, and for other seasons. We can imagine it in 1930s reproduction fabrics, primitive and civil war fabrics, and traditional green and red. Whatever scraps catch your eye are sure to be pretty in this project.

The finished pillow, by designer Amanda Murphy, is 21 1⁄2″ square .

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
