It’s a Great Project for a Favorite Combination of Scraps!

Sometimes simple is the best choice for a quilt and that’s certainly the case with this darling mini quilt. The traditional “Trip Around the World” design was used to produce a charming little quilt to display on a wall or table.

A coordinated combination of prints in various values from one fabric line gives the quilt a beautiful cohesive look. However, any mix will be lovely, and in fact, this gives you a good opportunity to combine some of your favorite scraps. Think seasonal colors too for a nice spot of color to enjoy every year.

While each square within the quilt is only 1″ x 1″, don’t let that throw you. A strip piecing technique makes the quilt simple to construct. Straight-line cross-hatch quilting is a wonderful finishing touch.

The completed quilt, designed by Samantha from Aqua Paisley Studio, is approximately 17-1/2″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
