Scrap-Buster Table Topper is a Beauty!

This utterly charming 9-patch scrappy table topper will be at home just about anywhere. For a more coordinated look, simply vary the fabrics to match your decor. The quilt would also look great hung on a wall, adding a cheery note wherever you choose to display it.

Select fabrics you love just for this quilting project, or better yet, raid your scraps and stitch together a truly one-of-a-kind creation. This is a super easy project that will go together quickly for both beginning and experienced quilters.

Saltwater Taffy scrappy quilt

Quilt designer Laura Boehnke calls this quilt “Saltwater Taffy.” With the bright and airy fabrics she chose for this confection, it’s easy to see why. The quilt is free-form quilted with swirly shapes, but straight-line quilting, or stitch-in-the-ditch, would be equally effective.

The quilt consists of nine-patch squares alternated with background blocks. Half-square triangles make up the scrappy border. It measures 27 1/2″ square. This lovely little patchwork quilt will take you a short time to complete. The pattern is provided by American Patchwork & Quilting.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
