It’s Fun for the Nursery Too!

This darling pillow is perfect for spring and a fun accent piece to enjoy every Easter. It will also be great in the nursery made up in colors to match a baby quilt.

Plus, the pattern is quite versatile. It’s easy to imagine a longer strip of bunnies made into a table runner. Or finish the pillow top into a wall or table quilt. The cute bunnies can be used in larger projects as well.

Machine-sewn reverse applique is used to create the bunnies. It’s a simple technique, and a fun one to try, that looks and wears a bit differently than standard applique.

If you dislike the idea of raw edges that might fray in the wash framing the bunnies, it’s easy to adapt the design to typical fusible applique. Simply cut out the bunny shapes from colorful prints and fuse them to the background, then sew around them with a blanket or other stitch.

The finished pillow, designed by Amy from Ameroonie Designs, is 18″ square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
