Create a Beautiful Flower Block from Scraps

Finish It Into a Lovely Wall Quilt!
Try something different with this beautiful Delphinium flower block. The artistic design almost begs for you to experiment with color placement and fabric styles.
While it’s described as a quilt block, we’d finish it off into a lovely wall quilt. It will be a delightful addition to your decor and is sure to be noticed.
Choose variations of a predominant color for the flower and greens for the stem and leaves. While the low-volume backgrounds chosen by the designer add interest to the block, a quieter background will emphasize the flower more.
We used Photoshop to quiet the background on the lighter version so you can see how that could look.
The following Photoshop modification shows how the block could look as a wall quilt.
The completed block designed by Val Livingston of Strawberry Girl Quilts is 12″ x 34″. Layer, quilt, and bind it for a 12 1/2″ x 34 1/2″ wall hanging.
