Create a Pretty Accent with This Charming Pillow

It’s Charming in Colors for Any Season!

A pretty collection of small polka dot prints in pastel colors comes together in a lovely throw pillow. The checkerboard design is both easy to make and a charming accent for many decors.

Experiment with colors and fabric styles to create your own version. Value and color contrasts create the checkerboard effect, which can be minimized or emphasized however you want. In this case, the checkerboard is stronger in some rows than in others, adding interest to the pillow.

Dot-to-Dot Pillow Pattern

Bolder colors and seasonal prints will be striking in this pillow. We’d love to see a Christmas version and the deep colors of fall.

The pillow cover, from the American Patchwork & Quilting Editors, was inspired by King Me! from designer Kathleen Williams. It is 10 1⁄2″ square and fits a 10″ pillow form. You can easily enlarge it by adding more squares.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
