Instructions Are Included for Two Sizes!

Make a sturdy tote from either canvas or quilting cotton with this versatile pattern. Or, use a combination of both.

A lovely star block on the side is actually a pocket, while the contrasting bottom, handles and edging complete the clean design. The bag will take on many looks depending on the colors you choose.

If using quilting cotton, you can go ahead and quilt the bag as well. Choose a design the works well with the bag design, perhaps an echo around the star and straight lines elsewhere.

The bag also lends itself to using a mini quilt design for the front panel. Christine Lux from Sew Lux Fabric made the following bag using the Stitched with Love Mini Quilt pattern. Learn how it was done here.

Here are a few more examples of the bag. It’s great in any color theme and the front panel can easily be customized with a quilt block. The sides and other parts of the body of the bag can be pieced as well. See other creative examples here.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
