There Are So Many Ways to Make It Your Own!

This fun little quilt features Gloria VanderBird at Christmas time. She loves designing amazing scarves and boots and even dyes her feathers to match her accessories. If you give her as a gift, you can make it even more special by including her story (found in the pattern).

Display Gloria on a table or wall. Or mount her on a wreath, an apron, the back of a jacket, or a tote bag…  There are so many options for this fun little quilt.

Fusible applique is used to create the design on the background fabric of your choice (in this case strings of Christmas lights). You can alter it too, to make your own special version.

The legs can be short or long, the body larger or smaller, the beak curved or pointy, or add embroidered eyelashes and other details. This is such a fun project with so many design options.

Designed by RazBeca, the completed quilt is 10 ¼” x 10 ¼”. It’s easy to adjust the block size to that of a standard block (12″ square) by increasing the size of the background. Or go even larger by printing the applique pieces at more than 100%.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
