These Quilted Holiday Hot Pads are Delightful Stocking Stuffers!

If you do a lot of holiday baking, or even if you don’t, you’ll enjoy protecting your fingers in style with these “Holly Hot Pads” throughout the season. They’re understated, yet beautiful and full of Christmas cheer.

Would you prefer more colorful hot pods? We can easily imagine them sewn up with more vivid fabrics, as well as with a patchwork look achieved by using several green fabrics instead of just one. Or, choose fabrics that match your kitchen decor, whether or not that’s green and red!

There are two styles of hot pads to choose from. The oval version has pockets for slipping your fingers into. The square hot pod is the more traditional size and shape.

Holly Hot PadsBoth are made with simple holly leaf and berry applique shapes. Fusible applique and machine stitching around the edges make the design quick to make.

These will be wonderful gifts for cooks on your list, so plan to make several!

The hot pads, by designer Patrick Lose, are the following sizes once completed:

  •  Oval Hot Pad – 5″ x 8 3/4″
  • Square Hot Pad – 8″ x 8″

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
