Do you have fabric in your stash that you absolutely love? Of course you do! What quilter doesn’t?
While you’re waiting for the perfect quilt project for those special fabrics, put swatches in frames and enjoy them every day. This is a quick and easy project that you’ll have done and on display before you know it.
Sachiko from Tea Rose Home has written a tutorial showing how to frame fabric. She found pretty frames at the dollar store and went from there.
She taped the fabric to cardboard so it can easily be removed from the frames in the future and left off the glass. Glass will keep the fabric dust-free but also can have a distracting glare.
Julie from HGTV Handmade has created an excellent video showing how to frame fabric. She goes on to show her method for hanging the framed pieces so they are perfectly aligned on a gallery wall. These tips will help with whatever you want to hang.
Depending on the fabric, frames and size you can accent any type of decor with framed fabric. Here are some other examples.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
