Make This Guy the Star of Your Thanksgiving Decor
Incorporate The Block Into the Project of Your Choice!
This handsome guy is all decked out for Thanksgiving with his deep autumn colors. He’s put together with fusible applique and is a great use for scraps.
Dig into your stash for your own version, and play with borders and other finishing ideas for the block. While the pattern provides instructions for both rectangular and round place mats, the block can be used many ways.
While the block’s dimensions are not provided you can see from the photo below that he’s nicely sized for a wall hanging or table topper. We’re guessing that the turkey is about 12″ across.

You could also make him into a large throw pillow, put him in the center of a throw quilt or make more than one for a larger quilt. Other ideas may come to mind as well.
Instructions are provided by the designer, Sindy Rodenmayer from FatCat Patterns, for two place mat options:
- Rectangular – 14″ x 18″
- Round – 14″
