Perle Cotton Quilting Adds Definition to Your Quilts!
Do you want to learn hand quilting, improve your results, or need a quick refresher? The following video by Sarah Fielke is an excellent overview of the hand quilting process.
She recommends using perle cotton for definition and ease of quilting, especially when starting out. Sarah does an excellent job of demonstrating all the essentials of hand quilting, providing many unique tips along the way.
The tools and supplies Sarah uses can be acquired using the links below:
If you’ve struggled with hand quilting in the past, be sure to give Sarah’s methods a try. Once you master her techniques you can switch to regular quilting thread, if you like. Practice a bit to get used to the smaller needles and thinner thread.
Sarah is an excellent and popular instructor with innovative ideas. We’re looking forward to taking her Big Techniques from Small Scraps online quilting class on Craftsy (learn more here), where she also covers her hand quilting technique.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
