Great for Scraps or Start with a Jelly Roll!
Patchwork pieces add interest to this beautiful large-block quilt. One big block creates an impressive design that will be wonderful in your favorite colors.
Choose the predominant colors, then select a wide variety of prints for the patchwork. Or, start with a jelly roll or charm pack for the patchwork and flesh out the star with complementary prints. It will be fun playing with fabric for this quilt.
We’ve included some examples below to show you how nice this design is in various color combinations. We hope they’ll inspire you to create your own special rendition.
Quilt from Happiness in the Making.
Quilt by Amy from A Quilting Sheep.
Quilt from Beausoleil Quilts.
Quilt from That’s Sew Julie.
The quilt below was adapted from the original Swoon Quilt by Jennifer from Hopeful Homemaker. All of the pieces in her version are constructed from patchwork, which you could also do with the “Patchwork Swoon” pattern (link below). We’re including it here to give you an idea of how the pattern would look in Christmas colors.
The finished quilt, designed by Thimble Blossoms, is 72″ x 72″.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
