Patchwork Trees Make a Cheery Holiday Runner

Embellish the Trees for Sparkle and Color, or Not!

Patchwork trees made into a runner will add considerable charm to your holiday table. Choose a variety of scraps for the trees and a special fabric for the binding and sashing. The red and white stripe used in this example makes the runner sparkle with good cheer.

This table runner offers many possibilities for embellishment, if you are so inclined. Beads, buttons, rhinestones, ribbons and felt stars can all be added to decorate the trees.

This project is so easy that even beginning quilters can finish it quickly. It will also make wonderful gifts for those on your list who love quilts.

You might also consider using the tree blocks in other configurations. One block with borders would be a lovely little wall quilt. Four trees could be a square table topper.

The finished runner, by designer Jennifer Bosworth, is 12 1/2″ x 53″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
