Use Up Those Leftover 2 1/2″ Strips!

This scrappy “Sister’s Choice” quilt is a fun opportunity to play with fabrics and create a quilt with your own unique color combination.

Plus, it’s ideal for using up those leftover 2 1/2″ strips. Every piece of this quilt, except for the borders, can be cut from them.

If you don’t have enough strips already on hand, you’ll have fun shopping for fat quarters to flesh out what you have. You might even choose yardage of coordinated fabrics, rather than give your quilt a scrappy look.

Or, do as Cora at Cora Quilts did and choose a couple of complementary jelly rolls.

We love the homespun look of Cora’s quilt. The finished size is 46″ by 65″.

The following version, from Bonnie K. Hunter, is just as lovely.

Bonnie, from Quiltville, provides instructions for 10″ blocks. Make as many as you need for the size quilt you want. Don’t forget to take into account the width of the borders.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
