Sew Half-Square Triangles Without Marking or Tape

This is a Great Time-Saving Tip for Accurate HSTs!
While there are many ways to make half-square triangles (HSTs) the easiest may be to use diagonal seam tape when sewing seams in the beginning squares. There’s no marking needed so you can start sewing right away.
But what do you do with larger HSTs that cover up the seam tape? Victoria from Midlife Quilter creases the beginning squares and follows the fold lines while sewing.
This is a great trick that only takes a bit longer than using the seam tape as a guide. Plus there’s no marking and it works on squares of all sizes. Watch as she demonstrates the process in a short video.
If you’re unfamiliar with diagonal seam guide tape, the photo below shows how it’s used. You’ll find it’s a great time-saver for accurate HSTs, stitch-n-flip corners, and more. You can purchase it here.
