Dig into your stash and pull out low-contrast red and whites, then find a blue with stars. You’ll have them stitched up into place mats before you know it.
The strips start at 2″ wide and are cut to length after being stitched together. That makes this a super easy project, especially since the mats are turned instead of being bound.
Add a thin batting and stitch in the ditch, or omit the batting for a quicker finish.
The completed place mats, from The Prairie Cottage, are about 14 1/2″ x 17 1/2″.
