These Pretty Place Mats are Perfect for Spring
Stitch up a Tulip Garden in Your Favorite Spring Colors!
Make a set of these charming place mats to welcome spring, and enjoy them all through the season. Tulips in pretty colors are just the right antidote for gray and chilly days.
The pattern is an easy one to complete, even for beginners with solid cutting and stitching skills. Select your favorite spring colors in tonal fabrics to make your own tulip garden for your table.
The tulip flower itself is simple piecing. The stem and leaves are paper pieced. However, they can be easily pieced the standard way as well. Simply cut apart the paper piecing template and make cutting templates for the individual shapes. Be sure to include a 1/4″ seam allowance on all sides of each shape.
The finished place mats, from designer Nancy Walhout Recker, are 20″ x 14″.
The “Tulip Place Mats” pattern is included in Springtime Quilting from Quilter’s World magazine.
