Make One for Yourself and Another to Give!
Mug rugs are tiny little quilts large enough for placing under a mug to protect the table. There’s room on the side for a treat, as well.
This mug rug is an especially charming one, and will bring some whimsy into your home. The darling red bird is dangling a heart from atop a spool of thread. It’s a fun way to show your love of quilting. It will also make wonderful gifts for quilting and sewing friends.
The pattern is an easy one to stitch up and will finish quickly. You may already have fabric in your stash for creating your own sweet version.
Fusible applique outlined with a machine buttonhole stitch is all it takes to make this cutey. You’re sure to have it done in just a couple of hours.
The mug rug, from Stitches of Love Quilting, is 5 1/2″ by 7 1/2″.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
