Every once in awhile we come across a book that is full of quilts that inspire us – and that make us want to head straight to the sewing room.

Moda All-Stars – On a Roll: 14 Quilts That Start with 2 1/2″ Strips by Lissa Alexander is such a book. There are several quilts in it that we love and want to make for ourselves.

Patterns are included for 14 quilts designed by some of Moda’s most popular designers, including Lisa Bongean, Betsy Chutchian, Joanna Figueroa, Sandy Klop, and Anne Sutton.

All of them start with 2 1/2″ jelly roll strips, which reduce cutting and sewing time. Here’s a sampling of some of the patterns.
