It’s All in the Cutting!

Have you ever stopped to admire a striking quilt made with Kaleidoscope blocks and found yourself wishing you could make one too? The wonderful block designs that can be achieved with special fussy cutting are simply astonishing.

While the blocks look difficult, they’re not hard at all once you have a method for cutting identical triangles. The following video from Jordan Fabrics shows exactly how to do that.

Tips for Making Stunning Kaleidoscope Blocks

The ruler used is the Quilt In A Day Kaleidoscope Ruler, although most 45 degree rulers will work. You’ll find a selection of magnifiers here.

Once the triangles are cut it’s a simple matter to sew them together. You’ll find that demonstrated in the next video.

Once you have several blocks, make them into a runner as shown in the video above. Or, go ahead and make a quilt. It will be simply stunning.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
