Value Placement Makes This Easy Quilt Shine |
This Will Be Lovely In Other Color Combinations, Too!
Half-square triangles in two value ranges create a stunning quilt to enjoy at Christmas or all year around. The large blocks allow the fabrics to shine in this easy-to-make quilt. Layer cake squares are ideal for this project, although fat quarters and yardage can be used as well.
While we love the red and green, any color combo will be lovely in this quilt. Think about autumn shades or softer colors for spring. You can easily adjust the size of this quilt, too. Reduce the number of blocks to make a charming square table topper.
Select a combination of light fabrics and darker fabrics, keeping the values close in each range. Careful value placement makes this pattern work, so it’s important to stay organized. Other than that this is an easy quilt to stitch together.
The following quilt by BeckySt made from a similar pattern shows how the design looks in another color combination.
The pattern, by Cindy Sharp of Tops to Treasure is for a quilt that’s 72″ x 90″ once completed.
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
