Winter Robin Vintage Postage Stamp Quilt is so Lovely |
What a Creative Wall Quilt!
We fell in love with this vintage postage stamp wall hanging. The idea of a postage stamp as the main element in a quilt design is so creative. The vintage styling is lovely and the robin is gorgeous. It even has an embroidered postmark.
This nostalgic little wall quilt from Fig Tree & Co. is made of applique on top of a pieced background.Use fusible applique to put the design together quickly and finish the edges with machine stitching. Or, take your time and do needle-turn applique.
Embroider the postmark by hand or machine. It shouldn’t be hard to change what the postmark says. Just draft your own rendition – or leave it off entirely.
This quilt is a good project for using those softer solid and small print fabrics you’ve been collecting. Larger print fabrics would give it more of a patchwork look.
This is a project for quilters with some experience and who have basic cutting, piecing and applique skills.
Start this project now and you’ll have it on your wall or table before Christmas!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!
PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
