The Bag Matches a Quilt and Both Tutorials are Free!

This super sized bag is just right for days at the beach and other warm weather outings. A combination of large and small scale prints give the simple patchwork interest. The yummy soft fabrics make it perfect for warm weather months.

The patchwork in the bag from Tilda Studio is the same as that used in their “Painting Flowers” quilt. Both are free tutorials.

Summer Bag

Wouldn’t it be fun to make the quilt and use the bag for carrying it to picnics, fireworks and star gazing outings?

A second version of the bag made in another fabric line is just as charming. It gives you an idea of how lovely the bag is, regardless of the colors and fabrics you choose.

Summer Bag

The following version is by Sedef from Down Grapevine Lane, who says:

“I’m so very proud of this project not only because I totally love the bag and will be using it every day, but it’s also the very first bag I’ve ever made (not counting pouches). Yes, that’s right. For some reason I’ve been utterly terrified of bags, their construction looks so bewildering but in actual fact it was easy peasy. Truly. I highly recommend the tutorial (below) if you are new to bags – it’s a great introduction.”

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you!

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
