Snowman Mug Rugs
These charming guys are so much fun and will bring smiles to those who receive them. While they’re meant to be mug rugs they can also be used as pot holders. Just add a hanging loop and a layer or two of Insul-Bright batting (find it here) for heat proofing.
Simple piecing, a bit of fusible applique and fabric from your stash will combine in a flash into these fun fellows. The pattern is found, along with several other quick and easy projects, in A Quilted Christmas from Quilter’s World.
Gift Box No-Sew Ornaments
Folded fabric, ribbon, straight pins and styrofoam forms are all you need to make these impressive ornaments. While they look complicated, older kids can help, making this a fun family project.
The ornaments are beautiful made up in Christmas fabrics (as well as in other colors) and will be treasured for many holidays to come.
The finished ornaments are 4″H x 4″W x 2″D.
Holiday Oven Mitts
Anyone who cooks is sure to enjoy these festive oven mitts and you’ll appreciate how easy they are to make. Fusible applique motifs are easy additions and give the mitts an abundance of good cheer.
Choose bright colorful fabrics, such as in the example shown here, or choose fabrics in styles and colors to match the recipient’s kitchen. Either way, a set of these will be a welcome gift.
The mitts are 7″ x 12″ once completed.
