Plaids Give it a Welcoming Homespun Look!

Easy star blocks stitch together quickly for this charming table runner. Prairie points are an unexpected and delightful finishing touch.

Plaids give the runner a homespun look. However, it will be lovely made up in many fabric styles. Colorful batiks, reproduction fabrics and modern prints will all create a unique runner.

Homespun North Star Runner

While it looks complicated, it’s really quite simple to make. The runner is turned so there’s no binding to deal with.

The finished runner is 63 3/4″ x 12 3/4″ without the prairie points. However, you can easily shorten it by using fewer star blocks.

The pattern for the “Homespun North Star” table runner is included in Top It With A Runner by Elaine Waldschmitt. The book contains several table runner patterns that you’re sure to enjoy.
