String Piecing Makes This Quilt a Breeze

A Great Use for Leftover Skinny Fabric Strips!
Strips of fabric too thin to use in other projects find a home in this stunning quilt. String quilting is an easy way to use those skinny leftover strips, making them into patches that can be trimmed into any shape. Plus, since the strips are different widths, there’s no need to match seams.
In this case, large triangles are string pieced and then formed into stars. A navy background sets them off to perfection, while a thin red inner border provides just the right accent.
The quick and easy piecing makes this a far easier quilt to construct than it may seem at first glance. Pull out those skinny leftovers, choose a background color, and enjoy the process. You’ll be surprised how quickly this quilt will finish up.
The completed quilt, designed by Katie Porter, is 86″ x 98″.
