Make a Lovely Runner for the 4th
It Will be Just as Charming in Colors for Other Seasons!
This easy table runner, in pretty red and blue fabrics mixed with white, is a lovely addition to your 4th of July table. You’ll enjoy displaying this for other patriotic holidays, as well.
Look through your stash and you may find you already have a nice selection of fabrics to work with. While you could use specifically patriotic prints, we especially like the florals and paisley selected by the designer.
The runner will be charming in other colors, as well. We can easily imagine it in Christmas colors, as well as in the rich hues of autumn.
The following rendition created in Photoshop gives you an idea of how it would look in spring green and violet blue.
It’s easy enough to make that you may find yourself making more than one just to be able to play with color!
Once completed, the runner designed by Carolyn Beam is 11.375” x 34”.
The pattern for the “Star Spangled” table runner is included in the July/August 2011 issue of Quiltmaker.
