Make a Set for Any Season!
These wonderful hexie pot holders are constructed so that the strips create rings around the central hexagon. The examples shown here, from PamKittyMorning, were made up in Christmas colors although the prints work any time of the year.
They will be wonderful in other color combinations, as well. Make up a set to match your kitchen or for a particular season. They make wonderful gifts, too, so consider making several while you’re at it.
We played in Photoshop a bit to show you how the potholders could look in other colors.
The tutorial, from Freshly Pieced, is for a quilt block but can be easily adapted to pot holders. Simply layer up a pieced hexie and add a binding and hanging loop instead of stitching it into a block.
This tutorial has the added advantage of keeping the angles square.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest has featured many patterns from vendors participating in the Craftsy Marketplace, most of which have been deleted by Craftsy. It's going to take awhile for us to hunt down new sources for those patterns. In the meantime there are many links to patterns on our site that no longer work. We apologize if this article contains one or more of those links and appreciate your patience while we straighten things out. Thank you! PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
I think these would be fun to make.
