Celebrate Summer’s Bounty with a Stunning Quilt
Part of the Fun is Collecting the Fabrics!
There’s nothing quite like the fresh produce of summer. Whether you get yours at the market or grow your own you can bring the essence of garden goodness indoors all year long with this sensational quilt.
Blocks of corn, tomatoes, watermelon and more are interspersed with nine-patch blocks for the body of the quilt. The veggies are all paper-pieced, but don’t let that stop you if you’ve never tried it before. It’s quite easy to do and this quilt is well worth the effort of learning something new.
Quilt from Sonya’s Snippets.
Your scrap bag is likely to provide most of the colors you’ll need. Or, swap for missing colors with a quilting friend. Finish your quilt off with yardage for the borders.
Individual blocks can be used in other projects, as well. Put a few together for a table runner, decorate a tote bag, or incorporate one or more of the designs in other projects.
The finished quilt is 23″ x 30″.
