Recreate a Beautiful Vintage Quilt

Choose a Wide Variety of Fabrics from Your Stash!

This beautiful star quilt is so similar those wonderful vintage quilts we all wish we had, and for good reason. Jinny Beyer created the pattern from an antique quilt made by Alice Melum Moss (circa 1930).

Create your own vintage reproduction using lots of prints to mimic the look of a 1930s quilt. Plaids and solids will work too. Just be sure to include a wide variety of fabrics to recreate that vintage appeal.

Twinkling Star Quilt Pattern

Of course, the quilt will be stunning with a modern approach. Choose all solids or modern prints to update the look.

The large background spaces will allow you to show off your quilting, whether it’s done by hand or machine. The example could easily be beautiful free motion (or longarm) quilting, but simple straight-line designs done with your walking foot will be lovely too.

The finished quilt is 66″ x 100″.

PLEASE NOTE: Quilting Digest does not sell or otherwise provide patterns directly. We showcase patterns and projects from various vendors, bloggers and other sources. Please make a note of where you access a pattern (the link in the yellow box toward the end of each Quilting Digest article). That way you can contact Support for that source if you have downloading problems or other issues. Thank you!
