An Easy Versatile Table Mat for Any Time of Year
Make It Up Any Color Combination!
Folded fabric triangles make the star in the center of this lovely table mat. Log Cabin style strips finish it off. It’s simple, fast and easy enough for beginners.
Fussy cut the starting hexagon so a lovely motif appears in the center of the star. Or, simply showcase beautiful fabric there. Just be sure to make the triangles in a contrasting value so the star pops out of the center.
This pattern is extremely versatile. Make it up in any color combination you prefer. Think of centering an autumn leaf in the middle of the star, a Christmas motif, a beautiful flower or anything else you like.
We’ve played with Photoshop a bit to show what it will look like in rich red and gold for the holidays.
The pattern for this easy “Hexagon Star Table Mat” from Kaye Wood is included in the January/February issue of Love of Quilting.
