Flannel and Minky Make an Extra Cozy Quilt
It’s Great in Quilting Cotton Too!
A layer cake of 10″ flannel squares was used to make this super cozy quilt. It was made even more snuggly from the minky blanket on the back.
This easy quilt will be wonderful in whatever fabrics you choose to use. Flannel (with or without minky) is perfect for winter, or choose quilting cottons for the rest of the year.
A pack of pre-cut squares will do the color coordinating for you. Or, look for leftover squares in your stash. You can also cut your own squares from whatever color combination you prefer.
The quilt consists of several simple blocks in rows. The block itself is easy to make. You don’t need to worry about points as they are meant to disappear. Just be careful of bias edges when sewing the blocks together.
Inexpensive minky blankets were pieced together for the backing, then brought around to the front for an easy self-binding.
The dimensions of the finished quilt, by Becky from Patchwork Posse, are not given. It appears that the blocks are about 14″ across. Use as many as you need for the finished size you want.
