Quilted Bottle Wraps Keep Your Beverages Cold
Adapt The Bottle Carrier Design to Any Piece of Patchwork!
We love the idea of a quilted water bottle carrier. Not only is it handy for taking along a bottle of water (or other beverage) but it will help to keep it cool.
The “Water Bottle Carrier” tutorial by Kathy at Pink Chalk Studio is a cinch to make.
This carrier fits a small 500 mL bottle of water. I used a Crystal Geyser bottle that was 8 inches around. The finished tube is 9 inches in circumference and 7 1/4 inches tall.
Does your favorite beverage come in a differently-sized bottle? Don’t worry. Kathy includes the formula for sizing your carrier to the water bottle of your choice.
A layer of Insul-Bright batting will help to keep your beverage cool.
The shoulder strap is quite long but you can easily shorten it if desired.
While we love the fabrics Kathy chose, have fun and use your own favorite fabrics. Or, if you’re giving this as a gift, choose fabrics you know the recipient will love.
The next pattern, for “Bottle and Cup Wraps”, shows how a carrier would look using bright fabrics and a simple patchwork design.
To make the bottle wrap into a carrier use Kathy’s instructions for adding a strap. In fact, you can use Kathy’s tutorial for constructing a carrier from any piece of patchwork you sew together.
Or, use the “Bottle and Cup Wraps” pattern instead to replicate these colorful wraps.
