Make a Charming Set of Easy Patchwork Placemats
They’re a Great Use of Scraps!
Use up some of those leftovers in a set of super simple patchwork placemats. These charmers go together quickly and will be brightening your table before you know it.
The placemats were designed for a child’s table but they’re also perfect for the kitchen or dining table. Plus, they are an easy project, even for beginning quilters. You’ll love how quickly you can have a set finished up.
Pieces cut from 5″ charm squares and 2 1/2″ jelly rolls are perfect for this project. Put together a nice combination from your stash or start fresh with a new pack of pre-cuts from a favorite fabric line.
Jumbo rick rack is a fun finishing touch. A piece of sturdy lace or other trim will also be nice. Or, leave the placemats plain and let the patchwork dominate.
The placemats, designed by Vanessa Goertzen at Lella Boutique, areĀ around 12″ x 16″ once completed.
