How To Supersize a Block Into a Full Sized Quilt
Plus Tips for Large Scale Piecing!
Single design quilts, those where a single quilt block has been enlarged to quilt size, are becoming more and more popular. One large block can create a striking quilt. Plus, it’s a lot less work to finish up a quilt made of just one block.
While patterns for single design quilts are readily available, it’s a simple process to enlarge a quilt block to whatever size you want for your finished quilt.

There is a bit of math involved but it’s quite simple to do. Faith Jones from We All Sew provides excellent instructions.
You’ll need graph paper in order to make the conversion. You can print graph paper with 1/4″, 1/2″, or 1″ squares for free from here.
Once you know what you need to cut to create your supersized quilt it’s time to start cutting and sewing.
