A Beautiful Collection of Little Quilts
Every Quilt is One We Want to Make!
We have long been fans of Kim Diehl’s quilts. Her unerring eye for color and design produces quilts of incomparable appeal.
It’s also seldom that we find a collection of patterns that inspires us to make every single one. We simply love every little quilt in Kim’s book, Simple Whatnots: A Batch of Satisfyingly Scrappy Little Quilts.
“Plain Folk”, 18 1/2″ x 18 1/2″.
There are 18 quilt patterns to choose from. They’re all small, finish fairly quickly and are perfect for scraps.
“True Blue”, 23 1/2″ x 23 1/2″.
“Nooks and Crannies”, 16 1/2″ x 22 1/2″.
“Mini Orange Peel”, 14 1/2″ x 14 1/2″.
Display them as table toppers, hang one or more on the wall (a grouping will be wonderful) or consider one of Kim’s creative display ideas.
“Anthem”, 21 1/2″ x 21 1/2″.
“On the Fence”, 18 1/2″ x 18 1/2″.
“Playing Checkers”, 18 1/2″ x 20 1/2″.
Besides the patterns, there are helpful tips included that will make you a better quilter. The instructions are excellent and the photos are so inspiring!
“Sunday Supper”, 13 1/2″ x 16 1/2″.
“Laundry Day”, 20 1/2″ x 20 1/2″.
“Hopscotch”, 28 1/2″ x 28 1/2″.
Many of the quilts are from Kim’s Simple Whatnots Club, so if you have those you probably don’t need this book. Otherwise, it’s a tremendous value for the inspiration, creativity and appealing patterns it includes.
