Of all the tools available to quilters your phone may be one of the most useful. Keep your cell phone close by while sewing and shopping. You’ll soon learn how helpful it can be.
For example, take photos of block and quilt layouts before you start sewing so you don’t forget what goes where.
If you can’t decide on a layout, or are unsure of which fabrics or colors to choose, lay out the options and take photos. Very often seeing the choices on a small screen will solidify your thinking and show you what works best.
Your phone is also helpful for collecting and saving ideas, whether they be color palettes, possible quilt designs or quilts you love and want to study further.
If you’ve found a trick that helps something go together more easily, document the steps with photos so you don’t forget. And, always photograph finished quilts for your records.
