This Pretty Sunflower Block Can Be Used Many Ways
Make One or Several for a Special Project!
Colorful and friendly sunflowers are delightful during the summer and into fall. They bloom in gardens, fields and alongside the roads giving bursts of cheer to the landscape. This quilt block is one of the nicest sunflower blocks we’ve seen.
Use it in a variety of projects. It will be lovely in a table runner, wall quilt or a larger quilt for snuggling. Or, finish the block and display it as a mini quilt on a table or wall.
While the block is beautiful in sunflower colors, it’s just as lovely in other hues. The example below by Pat Sloan shows how it looks in red.
The block was designed by Vanessa Goertzen from Lella Boutique for Aurifil’s 2017 September Designer of the Month feature. It’s constructed of squares and half-square triangles surrounding a snowball center and finishes at 12″ square.
Exactly what I was looking for!
I can hardly wait to get home to get started.
This beautiful design has lifted my spirits and I know the person that I will be re-creating this for will just love it!
Thanks so much for sharing!!!
