Tote Your Iron with a Heat-Proof Caddy
It Works As a Pressing Pad, Too!
This clever caddy was designed for toting an iron. It’s perfect for traveling and for quilt retreats and classes.
The caddy opens up into a pressing mat. That also means you don’t need to wait for the iron to cool before packing it up. Nice!
There are a few tips that help with making the caddy. One is to use stretchy hair bands for the elastic. They look nice and will wear well.

Patterns are available for both a regular iron and a smaller travel iron designed by Sisters Common Thread. A free pattern is available for the larger size from Tri County Quilters.
We were unable a locate a free pattern for the travel iron size (Caddy Pad Jr. Tote). However, the required piece of silver heat-resistant lining is included with the purchased pattern.
